Just follow the directions in this link: Android Market: “Download unsuccessful” Error Fix | Technipages to fix any Market or Firmware download issues. Please note that the "Checkin Service" is named "HTC Checkin Service" and you may not have "Google Apps" installed. I didn't worry about clearing anything for the browser and it worked just fine!
